world, meet BRUNO!

an 18 month old italian mastiff (cane corso) of finnish / kiwi descent, he is easily the biggest and strongest new member this year. full of beans and always eager to play, bruno is a gentle giant with a big heart. we are thrilled to have such a handsome and exuberant young pup along for the ride. once he let us in the gate (!) we soon struck up an instant rapport and now he jumps with excitement at the sound of the berlingo's engine up at street level!
he's met a few of the gang and everyone loves him (once he'd realised that jakey the puggle wasn't actually a toy!)

he's a very welcome new recruit and we look forward to many action-packed walks with big bruno.

hello hello just a quick one this evening as i'm cream-crackered after another hard days dogging.

we'd like to welcome back our old mate STEVE !! the coolest little 'juggle' (jack rus x pug) this side of taylor square! brimming with energy he is a very enthusiastic young fella and we are very glad to have him back with the gang. here he is on his first walk back getting to know his new buddy Finn (who is growing up fast!). the two of them teamed up with the beagles chester and winston and all 4 had a gay old time.

and can i say how great it is to have chester back on the grass again! as you can see he's loving every minute - everyone's a winner!

well well, finally i get to do some blogging again after a pretty long break!
apologies to all you avid followers of the dog-blog, all i can say is busy busy xmas xmas new year dogs cricket ashes celebrations more dogs peppi and new babies... so much going on recently it's been hard to find a spare minute to keep you all up to date with the doggy stylings of the D.O.G. Unlimited team. but anyway i've made some time so i mustn't waste it!
so without further ado let's meet some of the new faces.

one of the cutest new arrivals is little FINN a 12 week old labrador puppy. and what a good boy he is! wise beyond his years, finn has a very mature head on his little puppy shoulders. he is a very welcome addition to the team and has slotted in extremely well, and is enjoying his daily excursions in the D.O.G. bus. welcome aboard finn, good to have you with us!!

CHIHUAHUA-POWER!

well they say chihuahua's are like buses. none come for ages then 2 come at once!
in 4 years of hound-care i've never taken a chihuahua out for a walk then all of a sudden i get 2 at once. ladies and gentledogs, i introduce the cutest little pooches in the eastern suburbs, AUDREY (left) and GEORGIO ARMANI (right)!

and as a special treat for the pint-sized puppies i introduced them and they had great fun running around and yipping and yapping! and of course i must not forget their partners, SAMMY lives with audrey, and MINI-CARAMEL lives with georgio (yoji for short)!!
and here they all are playing together like old friends!!

i seem to be having some tiredness issues lately so i am going to keep this post short and sweet.

it's really to introduce you to some newer D.O.G. team members.

reinforcing our motto of "no dog is too big or too small" please meet CISCO - a miniature pinscher who doesn't know the meaning of FEAR!

here he is strutting around queens park with GOOSE (a fun-loving and free-wheeling weimaraner) and his long-suffering flat-mate archie (a super-cool jack russel). the 4th pooch is of course pepper, a life-long member of the team...

would like to wish a warm welcome to our 2 newest team members: byron and max.

byron (left) is a 6 yr old boston terrier who is a wonderful young lady and is a lesson to all dogs out there in how to behave properly. a dream dog - good girl.

and maxi boy (4 yr old retriever), who after a few 'first night nerves' decided he'd love to jump aboard and enjoy the ride.

hello my friends, it has been very busy and i have not found a lot of time to write but i have been taking many photos and some video too so as soon as my laptop is back from the shop (complete with brand new battery and 1 gig extra RAM) i will display these fine images for you. in the meantime enjoy the wonderful hot sunny weather we are currently having and thank god we are not in melbourne where they sweated through their hottest EVER night on record last night, with 32.3 degrees celsius being the coolest the night reached. oof sweaty betty. not nice.

in other news, all the dogs are great and the park is peaceful and good vibes reign.

beagle bonanza - winston, chester and franz wait for the park...

please welcome our newest recruit FRANZ (top right) to the D.O.G. Unlimited team. Franz is a lovely little fella who fitted right in with our happy bunch. As chance would have it franz lives right round the corner from the beagliers and wouldn't you know, franz is a beagle! leaving juno at home with a sore foot (next time juno) franz jumped into the dogmobile without a second thought and nestled himself in with winston and chester, the beagliers. after a LOT of sniffing we all headed off for dover heights and some action! well, i tell thee, franz was an ideal customer. sure, he was a beagle, but we were ready for his 'beagling', and true to form, off he went sniff sniff sniff but when called he came running back happily to the herd! he got on great with the beagliers and i can see them all having many more happy walks together in the future.

10/10 for franz on walk 1. see you thursday wee fella!

yes by now you may have noticed that the blog has changed appearance, less funny dog-related stories? don't worry the hilarious tales of fun and adventure can still be found but this latest project is very important and it must be done. we will all benefit from this. the dogs will benfit, i will benefit and YOU will benefit. it is going to be a wonderful thing, so just stick with me as once a week from now on i will be doing this.

i know it sounds unclear and mysterious but this is the way it is gonna be.

in other news, a busy day today but windy and a little rainy. tonight my dinner is being cooked for me for the first time i can remember which is really fantastic.

well well a most extraordinary afternoon was had this afternoon up at dover heights park. chili winston chester and myself jumped out of the van as per usual eager to stretch our legs and find like-minded souls to play with. perhaps spot a whale? have a poo or simply sniff around. we were sure it would be just another wednesday 'arvo' at the park. as no-one was around we headed south down the cliffs and sniffed and ran around as we would any other day. one of the great things about this park is the amazing array of birdlife that can be seen.

from tiny tiny little brightly coloured wrens to the mad squawking cockatoos, if

you keep your eyes open you are almost sure to see something. often there is a peregrine falcon that swoops and hovers in search of prey. and as

we walked this afternoon i heard great shrieking and clammering coming from the cliffs and interested i peered over the fence and saw 2 peregrine falcons seemingly fighting. i watched them as they flew elegantly yet ominously through the air almost whistling as they whizzed past us. the noise they were making sounded panicked. we were perplexed and amazed watching these graceful and deadly birds diving and climbing. hovering directly above us at one point i swear the bird was looking straight at me and with an ear-piercing "CAW" he shot off. i was concerned he would eat a beagle. maybe not.

anyway, a girl was also watching the great aeriel show and we both were amazed. then as we walked further through the park we realised what the birds were doing. we realised that a baby falcon was sitting in the park looking completely helpless. injured? scared? the adults were swooping and diving and shrieking and it was quite incredible. the dogs were instantly drawn to the baby and i hollered them back "CHILI! NO!" - the last thing i wanted was a chili dragging a half-dead peregrine falcon back to the van. the adults were getting more and more frantic as the dogs got closer and they started swooping down to attack the dogs. and they were really moving! wwwwhhhhhhhooooooosssssshhhhhh they would fly down and miss the dogs by inches trying to scare them away. then a strange thing happened. an adult flew down and smashed into the baby as if it was trying to kill it? or was it jst trying to move it to safety? it was very confusing and quite scary as this amazing show was played out.

finally we moved away not knowing what to do and we found an ex-israeli special forces guy called sam who borrowed MY sheet from MY van and went back and caught the poor little baby falcon and whisked it away to get fixed by the animal welfare people in rose bay. wow. what an exciting afternoon!!

wet and windy today but the dogs LOVE it so off we went to raleigh reserve and got absolutely drenched...

not dogs but pugilists. yesterday we followed mr kostya tszyu up new south head road, and it was very exciting. he drove very fast and i tried to keep up but unfortunately the bentley beat the berlingo and he was last seen disappearing into the cross city tunnel at kings x as we headed left into paddo to pick up murdoch.

and today we welcome daisy on board the D.O.G. Unlimited ship and we look forward to many more walks with the good staffie. if only she'd drop the ball once in a while!

hello people, just touching base as i haven't written much recently. been hella busy with lea's dogs namely honey lola and shenzi. can't say i'm sad to see the back of them really. well, shenzi was good. and lola too... but it's good to see lea back on her feet and romping through the park again. welcome back.

so last week saw the purchasing of the new 'whistle' - a real beauty which was long overdue. we all went up to the hunter for a very nice wedding and stayed in a very nice cottage and had a very nice time. the suit was great. roll on wedding season! the next one is in 6 weeks...

....and monday brought a new hound to the D.O.G. Unlimited team: murdoch the lurcher.

for those of you who don't know what a lurcher looks like , they are like shaggy greyhounds but a bit smaller. murdoch is a fine fellow and his first walk was excellent. he came when i whistled and that's all any discerning dog-walker can wish for from a newcomer. so it's good news for all parties as i will be walking murdoch daily for the next month until annie is back from the UK (wish it was me).

so that's that - oh and peppi is now crawling (7 months) so it's all hands on deck at home.

and mum gets here friday.

bumper week kicks off at D.O.G. Unlimited and monday is just slow enough to ease us in and prepare us for the onslaught of canine activity that is about to engulf us in the days ahead!

lea is off for a few weeks and therefore her hounds have been rationed out to us other walkers. shenzi lola and honey are my lucky bunch and there's going to have to be fair bit of shuffling and planning to ensure a smooth ride is had by all. might have to leave home a bit earlier, which would mean kya would have to come later... anyway i don't know why i'm boring you with all this logistical nonsense. back to the dogs.

leo (pictured right) is finished now but it was a fine fortnight of frolics with the big boy. it took him 4 days to realise that i wasn't arriving at his house to break in, but once he'd cottoned on that i was his friend it was plain sailing. a really nice dog who i hope to see more of in the future.

and of course the beagliers are just doing great. we have struck up a great relationship and now they don't act-up and i don't tell them off. everyone's happy! i'll see them this arvo. doggies!! winston and chester looking a little glum as we drive away from the park... no-one likes leaving the park.

ok folks that's my mid-morning coffee break over, now it's back to work. hi ho hi ho.

happy father's day

well here we are - my first father's day (as a father) and it's great! i got a meat thermometer and some electronic kitchen scales and also lots of love from peppi and emma. i couldn't be happier. AND i have now got my new phone so i am just going through all the complex techy stuff so hopefully i will be able to upload pics direct onto this here blog!

i haven't quite worked it out yet but i will try something else. here we go. my daughter peppi pretending to be a chimney sweep.

working like a dog

crikey - flat out today. stopped for 20 minutes for a ham sandwich at lunch with my lovely wife and my excellent assistant, matty B (good to have you on board matt - pasha says thanks) and then we were back on the road. but not far. a quick 50 metre dash across the road from my gaff took us to the home of our newest customers: jedda and shane warne. and what a pair they are! jedda a beautiful american staffy / labrador cross and shane warne (yes, really) a dachshund / terrier cross. very very good dogs. great mates and very friendly and obedient but with just enough attitude to make them cool dogs. off to marks park we drove (with kya) and we had a great first walk getting to know each other. A+ to both jedda and warney. excellent hounds.

and then as a wee bonus we met a nice young english girl from devon with her dog shenzi who looked like an african hunting dog. really beautiful little dog. we'll be hoping they join up to the D.O.G. Unlimited team asap. and the sun shone down and the ocean was just INCREDIBLE. blue blue blue.

next up came the beagles and i have to say they are coming into their own. we are developing a great bond and they are both very good boys. now i am totally exhausted and ready for my home-made pizza and then a tiny bit of rubbish TV and bed...

more news as events warrant.

a great song from soulstress inez foxx - i'd post it here if i could. i'd actually like it playing constantly on the website. it's doable, i just can't work it out. yet. still searching for a decent phone - i've set my sights on a sony ericsson c902 with it's 5 MEGAPIXEL sony cyber-shot camera! WOW... missed on on ebay for 130 bucks on sunday somehow. what a wally.

anyhoo onwwards and upwards. another week kicks off and it started with the excellent news that england had won the ashes. terrific! it wasn't an incredible series but in the end it was very close and it fluctuated wildly which made it pretty interesting.

finally the amazing weather has made way for some very strong winds and even some RAIN this afternoon. it must have been 2 months since the last rains? but as i have said before the dogs always love the bad weather and that is when us dog-walkers come into our own- up on the cliff tops battling the elements. just us and the dogs. that's how we like it!

and spare a thought for poor leigh (sp? -ed.) who took a nasty one on the hand this morning. a bite that it is. 2 very clear puncture wounds either side of her thumb - i've been nipped before and i'm telling you that would have HURT! get well soon leigh.

so until the next time. take care of yourselves and we'll take care of the dogs. thanks for your company on this wet and windy night in bondi.

picked up winston and chester today for their inaugural D.O.G. Unlimited session and what fun it was! they skipped cheerily down the street with me and hopped happily into the waiting dogmobile without a blink of the eye. being such excellent sniffers they spent most of the journey sniffing the amazing array of smells in the back of the berlingo - i think they liked it! up at the park, the sun was shining and there were plenty of other pooches around for the arvo run. i really couldn't have asked for 2 better dogs than these 2. chester is an angel and winston although bigger and slightly tougher looking is a pretty good boy too! within minutes we had cemented our friendship and they were enjoying every minute! mission accomplished. i look forward to tomoro and another walk. good boys.

well it's been a while since my last blog so i'll give you something to be going along with. busy week or so in the D.O.G. Unlimited camp. phone ringing off the hook and emails galore which is really good. of course not all of them materialise into new dogs but some do. starting next week are the beagles, winston and chester - i am looking forward to this as they are very good boys and i'm sure they will not give me any trouble! AND they live in bondi AND it's an afternoon walk so it suits me down to the ground. what else? all the usual hounds are fine and there is not much to report really. weather has been amazing and peppi is getting cuter every day. ummmm i'm not writing well this evening so i'll call it a day and concentrate on my massaman curry. yum-a-hoo-har!

wow time is flying by. winter seems to have miraculously evaporated into thin air and we've just had 2 or 3 weeks of glorious sunshine and 22 degrees. fantastic. all the dogs are good - looking forward to some new recruits which will be nice. 2 beagles are joining the gang - many thanks to rowena for the referral! mind you, i shouldn't speak too soon. don't want to go counting those chickens before they've hatched. there is also helen's friend with the 2 schnowzers (sp? ed.) and the newly arrived english couple with their dog, so IF these all come through i will be happy. in the meantime my rag-tag bunch of mongrels are keeping me busy enough. life has been good in the parks of the east. whales are scarce as they are mostly up in queensland but some have been spotted slowly making the return trip south again. my rude friend with the overweight black labrador has not been spotted all week which is fine by me - i am still plotting my revenge on that one...

all in all a wonderful trouble-free, sunshiny week so i should be grateful for this. and peppi is 5 months and really really starting to get funny!

still no new phone so still no photos but it wont be long.

it's a dog's life

today i am going to examine and discuss the well-known saying "it's a dog's life".
i have been thinking about it a lot lately and i am a little confused. are they implying that a dog's life is GREAT or that a dog's life is RUBBISH? because depending on which side of the fence you sit, either could be correct.
THE 'GREAT' ARGUEMENT:
when you see the dogs running around the park without a care in the world, going up to other sometimes complete stranger dogs for a sniff and a lick, it is easy to think what a great life these guys have. when they're chasing balls furiously and swimming in the ocean playfully, you would be perfectly justified in thinking, a dog's life is a fortunate one. when they're curled up next to you on the sofa getting a gentle massage on the head with the heater on full blast, or when they're flat on their back getting endless belly-rubs you would indeed be undoubtedly right thinking "these dogs have got it real good".
however...
THE 'RUBBISH' ARGUEMENT:
they sit around for hours and hours with nothing to do while you sit on the internet and prepare dinner. they rely on you for EVERYTHING. they smell. they can't read. they eat poo. they roll in poo. they do ANYTHING for a biscuit. they can't go in pubs. they can't go to restaurants. they can't go to westfield. they lick their own genitals (actually this could also go in the GREAT arguement depending on what floats your boat!).

so all in all, i think it is a split decision; but one thing is for sure: if your dog's life is RUBBISH, just call D.O.G. Unlimited and we will make his life GREAT that's for sure. WOOF WOOF

that's right folks the time has come for D.O.G. Unlimited to get a new phone. so tomorrow i will go to bondi junction and i WILL GET ONE. this is an incredibly exciting proposition for me because all i seem to buy these days are potatoes and bread and milk and loo roll. i really really can not wait to get my new phone. this will bring great things to the eastern suburbs' newest and best dog-walking team. it will bring a cyber-shot camera which will enable photos to be taken and then of course they will be UPLOADED onto this here BLOG. and don't forget the videos. oh yes - we are going up in the world, so hold on to your hats. this is gonna be GOOD.

well made it through the week on dodgy ankle and heavy heavy cold. must have gone through about 4 rolls of toilet paper blowing it, so much snot, not funny. now my nose is red raw and i look like an alcoholic. but feeling slightly better.

one sour point for the week was getting abused at the park by the owner of "tiger" a big fat randy labrador. the lady owner must have got out of bed on the wrong side or maybe she is just always this happy? in fact looking back she has never once said hello to me or even smiled so maybe she is indeed just a miserable old sow!

anyway i'll let it go, life is too short and in my heart i know i have done nothing wrong (in this instance!).

maybe she will fall down a hole next week, who knows?

so it's saturday morning my wife and child are sleeping and i have better things to do than punch letters on a powerbook so i will bid you all a very calm, peaceful and agro-free weekend!

rain and sprain and sunshine again

forgive me dear readers for i have been slack. it has been almost two weeks since my last confession...

but what couple of weeks. let me fill you in. lee has been away so she has dished out some of her dogs to us other, lesser dog-walkers (!) and i was lucky enough to get lola and honey the 1 yr old brown lab sisters and shenzi, an adorable old girl. good as gold. no worries what could possibly go wrong? it just meant i would be a bit busier than normal. Tuesday, first day of the new dogs. 2nd walk, raleigh reserve, all good, banging tennis balls frantically to every corner of the park when KAZAAM! straight into a bloody hole and KERUNCH! massive spraining of ankle. OUCH! curse these dogs and their hole-digging. i gingerly get up and test the ankle. AGGHHH doesn't feel too good. i slowly hobble back to the car in pain. i try to drive. i can. just. i drop the dogs off and as i hobble down honey's drive i realise i have to get off this ankle. so i reluctantly cancel the rest of the day and head home.

anyway to cut a long story short, my ankle was buggered and i spent the nextr 2 days on crutches trying to take all these dogs to the park and it was an absolute nightmare!! the new dogs didn't do as they were told, and i couldn't grab them so i ended up standing by the van shouting across the park as honey and lola ran amok! i had to get complete strangers to collar them and walk them back to the van. can i just add that crutches or no crutches my regular hounds like kya and chili were in the van in a flash as soon as i clicked my fingers (good girls)!

so it was quite a depressing week last week, add to that 4 days of torrential rain and EVERYTHING i did taking about 4 times as long as it should and you get the picture. total bummer. dog-walkers do not need sprained ankles. they do not mix AT ALL!

anyhoo luckily it i smending quite well and i have given the crutches back to neil (thanks dodgy) and i am not even using my walking stick anymore (although it was quite an effective deterrent for the dogs when they started acting up "AHAHAH@!!!"

so now the sun is shining again, the whales are coming past in their droves, the dogs are all behaving and life is good again. ahh no worries!

you just got to love the australian winter! standing in raleigh reserve at 7.45 am it's like standing in a dog-park in the antarctic. bitterly cold southerly winds howling across the tundra with scant regard for the park's patrons attempts to keep warm. by midday i'm sitting in my t-shirt at strickland house soaking up the rays getting a wee sun-tan!! brilliant.

but it has been blimmin cold this week. i even had to wear a hat...

good quick week thanks to old queenie's birthday on monday and friday is already upon us. busy 4 days and i am pleased to say D.O.G. Unlimited is going very well and this is good. website is getting hits and there is plenty of interest. the berlingo is still going and the signage is first class (thanks eric @ utopia signs in bronte - great job!) if anyone needs any signing done he's your man!

highlight of the week? probably taking butch to the park and him NOT chasing other dogs furiously and striking fear into all those present!! well done butch, give yourself a bone.

it is a cold and windy morning. initial reports are putting the temperature as low as 5 degrees. is this the coldest day ever in sydney? but here at D.O.G. Unlimited we are unaffected by such triviae. we will go bravely out on to the clifftops at dover heights and hit those tennis balls like they've never been hit before. the dogs must be walked, and we are here to do a job, and that job will be done, come hail or shine.

this truly is eastern suburbs dog-walking at it's finest. where others may shirk, D.O.G. march on.

so its the queen's birthday apparently. we have a day off. awesome! i actually did one small walk this morning as i was starting to have "park withdrawals" after 2 days of no walking. beautiful morning and not a soul in the park. strange. and no whales. where have they gone? mystery.

anyway sorry i ahvent been writing much i keep meaning to but then something else comes up. ive been dead busy, the van is now fully signed up and it looks MINT !! oh yes it is super fine. been busy doing dad duties and being a good boy in the main (apart from last weekend when we went out for guy's birthday and well, we had fun. late night. now i'm being a good father and staying in. it's better for the soul...

short week this week which is a bonus, so i will definitely see you right here in a few days and i'll tell you all about what we've been doing in the D.O.G. Unlimited world of adventures

busy as anything today totally run off my feet many dogs many parks didn't get home til gone 2. unreal. half my afternoon gone! then i went BACK out again once more unto the breach. ned is staying for the week and chili needed a run so we 3 headed to raleigh reserve in the hope of spotting some whales (i'd just seen my first whale of the season this morning from marks park whilst walking with ned and billy). anyway, saw isaac and sultan AND AJ and zolly. ok, chili and zolly have this weird chemistry thing going on where chili starts running in circles around zolly getting closer and closer until zolly snaps.

so what happens? chili starts running in circles around zolly getting closer and closer UNTIL....?

he snaps!! wham bang blood fur and fury as the german shepherd and the staffy-cross savagely tear into each other's heads and torsoes. AJ dives in and gets bitten, i dive in and get bitten, chili's collar comes off, layla then wades in to help out her mate zolly and chili is getting hammered and then some more dogs get involved... then it's all over.

bloody windy today, spent the morning at raleigh reserve whacking tennis balls as hard as i could at a 45 degree angle out over the ocean... and the wind blew them back!! amazing! really really windy and rainy and its 9.30pm and its still windy and rainy so tomoro is gonna be wet and wild! its great i love it. and so do the dogs.

pretty tired this evening and i've just been busy writing on my sister blog for the phat-love show so i'll keep this one short. very exciting things are afoot in the D.O.G. world. the van is going great and a nice man in bronte called eric is about to slap the dog logo on the side along with telephone number and email and paws for thought. people are gonna stop in the street and say "wow did you see that? that was cool."

well there we are - another week has passed without mishap or hitch. aren't we lucky to live in such a safe and happy place as this. spare a thought for those poor souls in baghdad and mogadishu whose lives are so terribly insecure...

on a brighter note i have been putting the berlingo through it's paces and it's going like a dream! so far so good, touch wood, fingers crossed, all is well. everyone who has set eyes on the as yet unnamed machine has commented on how super shiny it looks and what a great deal i got. $6000 seems almost too good to be true. will it last? i'm sure it will. more importantly the dogs seem to like it lots. well, kya is a little scared for some reason but she'll adjust, and chili was so surprised by the pristine back dog-area that she thought she would christen it with a big long wee. thanks chili, real nice christening!

so the van is good. and it will be named. soon. i just need to feel the vibes she's giving off and go with my heart. watch this space.

had a great curry night last night at the cale's - thanks sam for your amazing hostessing and cheffing skills - really wonderful food, saag aloo, fish masala, chicken bhuna, rogan josh, tandoori chook and some of the finest onion bhajis i've ever had the pleasure of chewing on. and little pepsta slept right through the whole thing! nice for mum to meet some of my mates even if she did rock the boat with some rather sharp retorts about wales. sorry rhi!

now i've got to wash up. then it's off to meet billy, a 1 year old labrador puppy and the newest member of the D.O.G. Unlimited team!

morning all and welcome back to the dog-blog, the only place to get the lowdown on the canine carry-ons in sydney.

still flat out with the baby but trying to find time to keep the blog up-to-date inbetween nappies and sick-wiping-up. ahh it's a wonderful thing.

so finally things are picking up for the D.O.G. Unlimited team. with the easter holidays almost behind us, people's lives are returning to normal and that means dogs are coming back from kennels and kids are going back to school and that can only mean one thing - it's time to call in the dog-walker again! a slow couple of weeks hurt a bit financially but at least it meant i had time to spend with peppi and grandma which is great - mum has already been here nearly 2 weeks so time is running out unfortunately. thankfully the weather has been pretty good and we've managed to get out and do plenty of nice things including another lovely trip to the hunter valley to meet the in-laws and take in some local theatre and a spot of country-style two-up for anzac day...

back into the dogs today and as i said things are slowly picking up and a little bonus was that i've got myself a new hound who goes by the name of busby. good dog and i'm sure after a few outings with the crew he'll be chomping at the bit to jump in the dogmobile and hit the park. good boy. as for the dogmobile, well it looks like the spirit has finally succumbed to the heavy schedule and may have breathed it's last breath. rego is expired and my accountant tells me it is simply not worth pumping another $800+ into the old girl, so we're on the lookout for a new company vehicle - something along the lines of a citroen berlingo or a holden combo. (anyone know of one, let me know) hopefully will get one this week. just off to see mr bank manager to get some readies.

busy week ahead which is good and weather is great so all's well in the D.O.G. Unlimited camp.

the weather is perfect so that is good although they are promising rain by the weekend and into next week. dont matter though, peppi will be providing ample sunshine too us all... cant belive mum is going to meet her in 2 hours or so!! yay!

so, the dogs... had a great weekend up in the hunter with ned - we are his favourite dog-minders in sydney and he had a blast! what a good boy. nice long weekend meant tuesday was the first day back at 'work' and it was a pretty busy day with ned, chili, kya, tess and stella welcoming me back from the country in their own special way.

right, my mum lands in 10 minutes and i've still got to eat my tea. better dash.

another ned

hello everybody and welcome to the blog. woof.

so another fine week of autumn weather which is what we like to see. the rain of last week has passed and has given way to wonderful blue skies. just a slight nip in the air this morning as we hit raleigh reserve but the sun was beating down and by 9 o'clock it was warm. met isaac and sultan and chatted about boosting business through google adwords! many thanks to isaac for the information and the cunning free voucher from pcuser magazine. D.O.G. Unlimited will soon have a proud advert right there on the google pages which is sure to bring in some new customers. fingers crossed!

continued use of the tennis racquet is proving immensely popular with the dogs and incredibly effective. chili ran herself virtually into the ground this morning and returned home a happy hound indeed. my arm feels better too.

all this week i have been walking ned. not ned ned, NEW ned. and although not quite as cool as the real ned, new ned is indeed doing the name proud by being a very good boy and not giving me any cause for concern. butch and edie are away in the country for a few weeks and new ned is living with barney so i've been taking the two of them to rushcutters and it's been a real pleasure. ned just does his thing without hassling any other dogs or acting crazy - unlike butch. so that's all been very nice for everyone. having said that i do miss butchy a bit so i'm looking forward to his return asap.

lastly for today just to let you all know that little peppi is doing amazingly well - she is 5 weeks now and is a big strong girl! she is way bigger than the other babies of her age, which must be good! and now she is smiling. i think i mentioned that last week, but now she is REALLY smiling. almost laughing. i don't know what at, but it's really really great!

oh to be a daddy...

alrite i'll leave it there and go and sort out my google ad and prepare myself for the onslaught of phone calls and new dogs!
